Once again I am pleased to report on the continued recognition our faculty receives from our National as well as our International peers. On Friday, June 19, 2009, Dr. Francisco Ayala, Donald Bren Professor in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, received a Doctor Honoris Causa degree in philosophy from the University of Salamanca, the oldest university in Spain, founded in 1214. Congratulations Francisco!
