UCI’s Cal Teach Science & Math Initiative has received a National Science Foundation Robert Noyce grant of $900,000 over five years, beginning in August. The grant will fund video production-based teacher training, scholarships and summer internships at local science centers for undergraduates aspiring to become math and science teachers. The science centers include the Aquarium of the Pacific, Back Bay Science Center, Discovery Science Center and the Ocean Institute. This work is led by principal investigator Brad Hughes (shown), along with collaborators Debra Mauzy-Melitz, Elizabeth van Es and Sue Marshall of UCI, and James Woods of the Aquarium of the Pacific.
