The UC Irvine Sue & Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center on Oct. 16 held a “Topping Out” barbecue to celebrate the halfway point in the construction of its new building. Peter Donovan and Hans Keirstead, center co-directors and Susan Bryant, research vice chancellor, gave remarks. Faculty members and postdoctoral researchers funded by the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine also attended. The building – Sue & Bill Gross Hall: A CIRM Institute – is scheduled to open in 2010.
