I have just been informed that Dr. Brandon Gaut, Chair of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, has been chosen as UCI's Professor of the Year by the Academic Senate Council on Student Experience. This is a great honor for Brandon and an unprecedented honor for the School of Biological Sciences, since another of our faculty, Dr. Michael Leon, was the recipient of this award last year. It is a tribute to our faculty and School that their commitment to and excellence at teaching is recognized and honored by the entire campus. Please join me in congratulating Brandon on this award.
