| Commencement will be held on SUNDAY June 13-15, 2008.
All students who plan to graduate during the 2005-2006 academic year MUST file a graduation application in the Biological Sciences Student Affairs Office by the last day of instruction of the quarter in which you plan to graduate.
Fall Quarter Deadline: December 14, 2007
Winter Quarter Deadline March 1, 2008
Spring Quarter Deadline June 13, 2008
To insure that your name gets printed in the 2008 Commencement Program, you must file your application no later than March 21, 2008. Summer graduates will be able to participate in the Commencement ceremony as well as have their names listed in the Commencement Program provided the application is turned in by March 21, 2008.
Although the dates above will allow you to graduate on time, we strongly urge you to plan ahead and file for graduation two quarters in advance. The graduation application can be completed and submitted on the Web at http://www.reg.uci.edu/studentaccess/ . After you have applied to graduate, a formal graduation check is completed and will be emailed to you within three weeks of filing. This can be very important as it gives you time to send any transcripts that might be missing and to insure that you're on the right track. If you are a double major, you must submit an application for graduation in both of the schools certifying your degrees. Remember that credit for the last 36 units of work immediately preceding graduation must be earned in residence at the UCI campus. If you indicate a minor or a specialization and you decide not to complete it, you need to inform our office. If you have not completed the required courses for the minor or specialization by the graduation date, we will cancel your application and you will have to reapply for a later date. It is also your responsibility to make sure we have received all transcripts from other colleges and universities and that all corrections to your academic record have been processed by the deadlines. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your application. Retroactive degrees will not be awarded.
Commencement: Commencement ceremonies will be held on June 13-15, 2008. As noted above, applications to graduate must be filed no later than March 21, 2006 to be included in the Commencement Program. During May information about cap and gown, commencement invitations, and ceremony times and locations will be mailed to all students who have applied to graduate. Also see the following web site for more info: http://www.commencement.uci.edu/.
