As discussed during department faculty meetings, the Dean’s Office will provide up to eight competitive grants for faculty teams to work together to align exams (or other forms of class assessments) with student learning objectives. Teams should be composed of a faculty member with expertise in effectively implementing student learning objectives and a faculty member who is interested in consultation for one of his/her classes. The advising faculty on the team will be awarded a $500 research allowance for his/her consultation service on aligning class assessments with course outcomes. Grant applicants should complete the following short application. Grant applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; however, grants working on Fall 2019 courses should be submitted by September 12, Winter 2020 courses by December 13, and Spring 2020 courses by March 13. A faculty committee will evaluate the applications, and applicants will be notified of the status of their application the week before the course is offered (September 19, December 20, March 20).
