The Parsons Lab, in the Department of Developmental and Cell Biology at UC Irvine, is seeking applicants for a Junior Specialist position. The lab studies development and the diseases of the pancreas. Exciting research programs are aimed at understanding the role of stem cells in regeneration of insulin-producing β cells and in pancreatic cancer.
This position will blend some lab responsibilities, such as organizing our zebrafish facility and managing undergrad assistants, with support of ongoing research projects. A successful candidate will demonstrate open communication, a strong sense of responsibility, a desire to learn new skills and be part of a scientific team. We seek candidates who show evidence of their willingness to try new things and to bring projects to completion. An undergraduate degree is required and experience in molecular biology is advantageous.
