POSITION DESCRIPTION
A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Irina Sevrioukova in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in the School of Biological Sciences at the UC Irvine. The successful applicant will study the inhibitory mechanism of the major human drug-metabolizing enzyme, cytochrome P450 3A4, to develop the next generation of pharmacoenhancers via rational structure-based inhibitor design. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will design and execute the synthesis of small molecules to explore their biological activities as
potential drug candidates.
The project will require an expertise and PhD in organic, synthetic and/or medicinal chemistry. Prior experience in the field is not required but highly desirable.
