Combating Stress with Tai Chi

biophysicistProfessor Shin Lin, Developmental and Cell Biology, has been studying the effects of complementary and alternative medicine on the body for many years.  Professor Lin is also an instructor of tai chi, an ancient exercise routine and martial art that some consider to be effective in combating stress. Professor Lin has been practicing it with students for many years and was recently featured on the local CBS news.  Using modern analytical techniques, Professor Lin has found that tai chi has a measurable positive effect on participants’ stress levels and immune systems, regardless of an individual’s age.
