April 13, 2013 @ 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
The UCI Arboretum hosts its popular annual “April Showers of Flowers” plant sale on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Arboretum’s nursery grows a variety of unique yet easy to grow plants well suited to Southern California.
We specialize in succulents, South African perennials, and unusual bulbs.
April is one of the best months with winter flowers still in bloom and the rush of spring bloomers beginning to go into bud and bloom.
Highlights in April are the red-and yellow/gold Painted Lady (Cyrtanthus falcatus), the delicate blue of the Natal Fairy Lily (Scilla natalensis) and colorful succulents like the Black Rose (Aeonium atropurpureum) with its contrasting yellow flowers.
Our gardens are in peak bloom in April and May, with colorful California natives, a variety of native wildflowers, late bloom in our South African Bulb garden and spring color in our Perennial Garden.
Admission and parking are free for this event.
The UCI Arboretum is located just south of the corner of Campus Drive and Jamboree Road on the UCI North Campus.
Our regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
