At the 2016 Anteater Awards ceremony, the Biological Sciences School’s Biological Sciences Student Council (BSC) received the coveted title of “Most Outstanding Academic Organization.” The Anteater Awards are held to provide recognition to the university’s 600+ student organizations with about 20 award categories. The Biological Sciences School’s BSC won the “Most Outstanding Academic Organization” in recognition of the exceptional work they do in areas of academic guidance, student advocacy, community involvement and peer support. BSC is an undergraduate organization that consists of over 60 members, including an executive board. The organization is composed of four different divisions, each working together to accomplish their goals as a student advocacy group.
