Yvonne Liu

Longtime Dunlop School Ambassador and UCI philanthropist, Yvonne Liu opens up about her experience as a cancer and trauma survivor.  A freelance writer and memoirist, Yvonne’s work has appeared in The New York Times and Hobart.  Most recently, she was published on NBC News as she shared the intimate story of how she hid her breast cancer diagnosis and journey from her Asian American friends out of fear that was deep-rooted in cultural beliefs.  Yvonne’s article shares a unique perspective on overcoming cultural misconceptions to prioritize her health.  By telling her story, she continues to be beacon of hope as she advocates for cancer screenings and encourages her fellow Asian Americans to seek preventative care.
