What is the role of the auditory cortex in cognitive function? One approach to this issue is to investigate auditory function in patients with dementia. This talk will cover central auditory dysfunction in AD reflecting a left-ear deficit, cortical ERPs in AD reflecting involvement of the primary auditory cortex, and hearing aid benefit in AD when comparing unaided and aided performance.
